Wade F.B. Thompson

He is the founder and Chairman of Thor Industries having built his company into America's largest RV and small bus manufacturer by acquiring Hi-Lo, Airstream, General Coach, El Dorado, National Coach, Dutchman, Four Winds, Komfort, Champion Bus, Keystone, Damon, Breckenridge, Crossroads RV, Goshen Coach and the start up of Thor California. It is also recognized as the leading small passenger bus manufacturer making innovative fuel cell powered, zero emissions, transit buses. He is a strong supporter of industry training and educational programs and, from its inception, has been a key promoter of the Go RVing campaign.

William H. Turney

He is recognized as having been a dynamic industry leader as a housing retailer, association officer, Florida's representative on the National Manufactured Housing Federation, and Assistant Executive Director of the Florida MH Association. He was identified as a consummate ambassador for manufactured housing and was the 1992 recipient of the MHI Chairman's award for his contributions to the industry. He was a founding member and 18 year board member of the Manufactured Housing Education Institute.

Donald W. Wallace

He is recognized for building the nation's largest RV dealership and for his years of dedicated support to the Florida RV Supershow, the Go RVing campaign, and many other RVDA and RVIA events for over 30 years. An early promoter of the Go RVing campaign, he conceived and built the nation's first RV retail Super Center with over 1,000 units on display, over 250 60-foot service bays, a Camping World store, a 300 site RV park, a Cracker Barrel Restaurant and a Flying J Travel Plaza included in his complex. He is recognized for having set an industry standard for professionalism, customer service and product training that is emulated by dealers coast to coast.

Frank Walter

A 23 year Vice President of Technical Activities for the institute, he is recognized for his leadership and knowledge of engineering, design, and construction issues in the industry. For over 2 decades, he has been recognized as the leading authority on HUD Code home matters. He served 7 years as Secretary of the Manufactured Housing Research Alliance, formed to further advance technology in manufactured housing. For more than a dozen years, he escorted Housing and Urban Development Department staff members on tours of manufactured housing plants to give them first hand knowledge of the industry. He is a recipient of the Earl Swett Standards Award for outstanding technical contributions to the industry. Upon his retirement, the award was renamed the Frank Walter Standards Award in his honor.

Richard Baidas

Dick was a long-term industry promoter and board member of the Michigan MH and RV Association. He has been a principal in the founding and development of 10 different RV and housing manufacturers. He built his RV dealership into the largest in the state of Michigan and the largest in the country at one time. He worked diligently providing leadership to the marketing and public relations efforts of promotional shows throughout Michigan

Susan Bray

Sue has for 30 years lead the RV industry's largest RV consumer organization. Under her leadership, the club has grown from 200,000 members to over one million today. She has served for 25 years on the board of directors for the American Recreation Coalition, and on the advisory board for the U.S. Department of Transportation's Scenic Byways program. For 25 years she has been a valued collaborator with the RVIA Legal Affairs Staff. She was a key promoter representing RV users on the Take Pride in America program to increase volunteer service on public lands that has been adopted by the Department of the Interior's Bureau of Land Management. She was awarded the coveted RVIA Legislative Award in 1990. Her enthusiasm, imagination and personal involvement have helped make the RV lifestyle what it is today.

Kevin Clayton

Kevin has been named the Manufactured Housing Institute's Industry Person of the Year 3 times. He has long served on the MHI Board of Directors and Executive Committee and on the HUD Code Regulatory Reform Task Force. He is the leader of what has been identified as the most dynamic team in the housing industry. He was the leader of the sale of his company to Berkshire Hathaway giving an enormous credibility boost to the industry. Under his leadership, his company has grown to 38 home building facilities and 454 model home centers.

Mel Adams

A past Chairman of RVIA, he has also served as Chairman of the RV Service Training Council and is recognized as a leading voice for industry education and customer satisfaction. He was a leader in the development of the RVIA-RVDA service technician schools. He received the Distinguished Service to the RV Industry Award in 1992

Jerry W. Britton

He has been active in the financing of RV and manufactured housing dealers for over 30 years. Today he provides floor plan financing for over 800 dealers and annually finances over $1 billion in industry products as the largest wholesale lender to the manufactured housing industry.

R.C. Moore

He is a charter member of the Tennessee Manufactured Housing Association and a member of the TMHA Hall of Fame. He is the publisher of the housing "Industry Perspective" newsletter and a mentor to other retailers and land-lease community operators. He is active in furthering uniform installation standards statewide in Tennessee
